Rebar

  • European Rebar
The strength of European rebar is its cost. Made principally of manganese, European rebar is the least resistant type of rebar with respect to bending. While easy to work with, it is generally not recommended for use in areas that experience earthquakes nor for projects that require substantial structural integrity from its rebar.
  • Carbon Steel Rebar
The most common rebar, “black” bar is used on every type and scale of project with few exceptions. The biggest weakness of black rebar is that it corrodes. When rebar corrodes, it expands cracking and breaking the concrete around it. For situations in which the rebar might be exposed to humidity or water saturation, there are better options than black rebar. However, with respect to is value/tensile strength ratio, black rebar is the best rebar available.
  • Epoxy-Coated Rebar
Epoxy coated rebar is black rebar with an epoxy coat. It has the same textile strength, but is 70 to 1,700 times more resistant to corrosion. However, the epoxy coating is incredibly delicate. The greater the damage to the coating, the less resistant to corrosion.
  • Galvanized Rebar
Galvanized - rebar is only forty times more resistant to corrosion than black rebar, but it is more difficult to damage the coating of galvanized rebar. In that respect, it has more value than epoxy-coated rebar. However, it is about 40% more expensive than epoxy-coated rebar.
  • Glass-Fiber-Reinforced-Polymer (GFRP)
GFRP is a composite much like carbon fiber. As a result, field bends are not permitted when using GFRP. However, it will not corrode, period. In that respect, GFRP is an unparalleled concrete reinforcement bar. While it costs ten times as much as epoxy coated rebar per pound, it is extremely light, so the cost is only about double when considering talking linear feet.
  • Stainless Steel Rebar
Stainless steel rebar is the most expensive reinforcing bar available, about eight times the price of epoxy-coated rebar. It is also the best rebar available for most projects. However, using stainless steel in all but the most unique of circumstances is often overkill. But, for those who have a reason to use it, stainless steel rebar 1,500 times more resistant to corrosion than black bar; it is more resistant to damage than any of the other corrosive-resistant or corrosive-proof types or rebar; and it can be bent in the field.

Wire Mesh

  • Electro galvanized welded wire mesh with square opening
This type of welded wire mesh is designed for building fencing and in other infrastructural purposes. It is a corrosion resistant wire mesh that is largely used in structural building. It is also available in different forms like rolls and panels for industrial uses.
  • Hot dipped galvanized welded mesh
This type of mesh wire is generally made up of plain steel wire. At the time of processing it goes through a hot zinc covering process. This type of welded mesh ware with square opening is ideal for animal cage structuring, fabricating the wire boxes, grilling, partition making, grating purposes and machine protection fencing.
  • PVC coated welded mesh          
PVC coated welded mesh with plastic covering is constructed with galvanized iron wire of high quality. It has PVC powder covering that is processed by an automatic machine. The smooth plastic coating on this corrosion protective wire is attached with a strong adhesive which make increases durability of the wire. It is used in fencing residential and official properties like gardens, parks, building etc. The PVC coated welded mesh which is available as both rolls and panels, is also available in different colors like white, black, green etc.
  • Welded stainless steel mesh​
This kind of welded mesh wire is basically used in industrial fencing purposes. It is made up of stainless steel that has high strength and integrity. This corrosion resistance meshed wire is long lasting and is widely used in transportation, agricultural, mining, horticulture, entertainment and other service sectors.
  • Welded wire fencing panels
This is a type of meshed wire that is available as panels and is basically used for fencing purposes. It is available with or without galvanization. The non-galvanized version comes for a lower cost.
  • Welded steel bar gratings​       
This type of welded mesh wire provides advantages like high strength, easy installation and feasible cost. It is mostly used for grating roads, making drainage coverings and building safety walls. It also has uses in chemical plantation, platform grating, metallurgy etc.

Post Tension Cables

  • What is Post-Tensioning
Post tensioning is a technique for reinforcing concrete. Post-tensioning tendons, which are prestressing steel cables inside plastic ducts or sleeves, are positioned in the forms before the concrete is placed. Afterwards, once the concrete has gained strength but before the service loads are applied, the cables are pulled tight, or tensioned, and anchored against the outer edges of the concrete.
Post-tensioning is a form of prestressing. Prestressing simply means that the steel is stressed (pulled or tensioned) before the concrete has to support the service loads. Most precast, prestressed concrete is actually pre-tensioned-the steel is pulled before the concrete is poured. Post-tensioned concrete means that the concrete is poured and then the tension is applied-but it is still stressed before the loads are applied so it is still prestressed.
  • ADVANTAGES & APPLICATIONS OF POST-TENSIONING
Post-tensioning, which is a form of prestressing, has several advantages over standard reinforcing steel (rebars):
  • It reduces or eliminates shrinkage cracking-therefore no joints, or fewer joints, are needed
  • Cracks that do form are held tightly together
  • It allows slabs and other structural members to be thinner
  • It allows us to build slabs on expansive or soft soils
  • It lets us design longer spans in elevated members, like floors or beams
 
  • Common Applications for PT
Some of the more common applications are:
  • Slabs on ground: Today, PT is used extensively for slabs on grade where soils are likely to move (expansive soils)-especially in the American southwest. 
  • Another good application for PT slabs is producing crack-free tennis courts.
  • A recently developed application of PT is external post-tensioning for strengthening of existing structures, especially as an upgrade to resist seismic forces. 
  • Bridge designers have used PT both for cast-in-place concrete and for precast segmental construction. PT allows longer spans and keeps cracks tight.
  • Concrete water tanks are often post-tensioned to reduce crack width and leakage. 
  • Masonry walls can be post-tensioned-this is usually done with a solid steel bar fastened to the foundation and stressed with a nut at the wall's top. ​​
